is a series which pays homage to the invisible within the obvious.
A visual poetry emerges from the interplay between Art Nouveau ornamentation and functional modernity. The static appears fluid. The everyday becomes a mysterious labyrinth.

The Nordsternhaus stands as a quiet sentinel of the city's maritime past and modern pulse. Its elegant curves wind dramatically upward, echoing the building’s timeless charm. The view upward through its spiraling center is worth the pause, and the craftsmanship reveals itself best at a slower pace.
Designed in the Hanseatic style with ornate sandstone details and sweeping staircases, the Laeiszhof reflects the pride and ambition of a city built on global trade.

What was once merely a utilitarian connection between floors becomes the protagonist of an abstract narrative. Lines wind like thoughts, steps follow each other in endless loops, and banisters cut patterns into the space.
Green Floors
For 3 days I searched Hamburg's unknown stairways - ofasking for permits, convincing the portiers to open locked doors, and climbing up dozens of flights of stairs. in the hope of discovering unvisited areas.
What started out as an exercise in architectural photography became a lesson in perseverance, trust, and obscured sceneries. Faded facades hid silent spiral stairs of steel, marble and light made by years of anonymous footsteps.

The heart of the Esplanadebau reveals itself. A magnificent spiral stairwell, a testament to both architectural ingenuity and the passage of time.
Notice the details: the curve of the handrail, worn smooth by countless hands, the subtle variations in the stone, each telling a story of craftsmanship and use.

Light and shadow create an interplay of graphics that abstracts the architecture into pure form, movement, and rhythm. One can almost hear the echoes of hushed conversations, the hurried footsteps of a bygone era, the very pulse of Hamburg's storied trading empire imprinted upon these steps.
